Took mine off sunday as i found it awkward to clean in the lower tailgate shut with the bumper in the way.I was pleased to find it in excellent condition although very grubby, not bad after 13 years of all year use.Have a look.
Thanks for the pics. I'm removing the rear bumper in a few weeks to give it a new coat of paint. How long did it take you to remove? How many fasteners?
Inside the rear arch there are 2 cross head screws, so 4 in total.Inside the boot (trunk) there are x2 nuts each side, so 4 in total. That's it really apart from unpluging the licence light.
My rear arch screws were seized solid so i had to drill the heads off then replace with new screws and clips.
check the chassis rail extension each side of where the towing eye screws in because they can rust through there, its a good idea to pack it with waxoyl while the bumpers off

Only got the rear off this morning, but i was pleasently suprised Not as dirty as yours Al, but gave it all a good clean and even under the carpet in the boot.

I doubt that mine had ever been off Nik.The screws were rusted solid, i had to drill the head off and refitted nice new screws and clips.
when mine went in for the repaint i checked her all over and found only some slight rust on the lips of the cills underneath wich was ground away treated prepped primed and repainted and that was about it not bad for a +10yr car the chassis was solid and like i said no signs anywere of more of the metalworm thank fook
