Hi guys im new to the website and im basically looking for some advice on a car that ive known and wanted for a few years and ive been offered a really great deal on it that isnt really worth missing out on its in need of quite alot of tlc but i am really willing to put the hard graft in to make it into a minter again. Its an Escort Cosworth Replica fitted with a 2.1 ZVH Turbo but its been sat for around 3 years altogether dry stored and the last 4 months its been stored outside im just basically wondering what will i have to look out for on it like will the brakes be seized or clutch or anyhting.Im only 18 and see it as a good alternative seen as i cant get the real thing any help would be much appreciated thanks Adam.

 

i have too be honest my friend, 18yr old with a 2.1 zvh turbo is bordering on silly.. i'd get some driving experience first, i'd of said the insurance would be a killer as well. as for the car, it may be alright.. my granada when i bought it had been in storage for 7 years. all i'd did was got it on a ramp.. cleaned the brakes up an greased everything.. engine flush and gearbox, a service and an mot.. it has been fine ever since

 

ok thanks alot but do you know anthing on re wiring the dash on the escort mk5 and the insurance is already sorted on it

 

what needs rewiring on the dash

 

everything needs doing as it was completely stripped inside the car the dash was taken out is it just a case of finding what is what and just pluging it back in so to speak

 

does it have mo's and the same colour as my escos?

 

I presume you have Escos dash it should be similar to an ordinary Escort, there are three extra gauges in the centre for boost, battery, oil.

its the one i am thinking off its had alot spent on it and the guy is away to put a cossie floor pan in it

 

yeh its got a escos dash and the banana pod was all wired up before but all i want to know is if its an easy job
and no its not the same colour as that escos but that does look mint no the one im after is a custom colour its 60% imperial blue and 40% cadburys purple i think it looks really good also does anyone know when the next few meets are so i can set myself a goal!!!!
