Hello all.A friend has an Escort cossie and has trouble with his gearstick lever...If he tries to change gear too quickly, the top of the gearlever (billiet?) keeps coming off. Apart from getting a quickshift jobie, is there a way to install a new top "ball " to the gearstick that will stick to its place?
As far as we can see the top of the gearshift is not knurled so we cannot get an off the shelf "top ball" . Can anybody recommend a fix or a replacement gearlever?

mike rainbird does a copy of the monte-carlo alloy gearknob which is held in place with a grub screw that mite help m8
