What do you think of a 1.4 escort or similar with cosworth kit. Alright especially for a young driver, or too much all show no go.
Saw this one on autotrader, its only 1.4, group 6 insurance.

I like the cosworth look but without the cosworth price, especially at 18.
Whats your opinion.

If you buy a replica, you should inform your insurance agent, you'll find them not too cheap on insurance after all!

Is that because a potential thief may not realise its a lookalike.
I have been told that they can bump the insurance quote up to the equivalent level of the actual car, so group 20 in the case of a cosworth

i love the escort cosworth but i would never buy a replica, not cos i dont like them, i would rather have the real thing but being 24, with wife and 3 kids it not gunna happen yet.
almost got one last year as i had £11000 to spend but couldnt find a good one for that money, well TBH could only find 2 for about that lol and they were very far away, 1 in scotland if i remember and decided not to bother and save up some more, then i spent the money, lol
but there are some nice ones about, soemone on here was/is doing one and it looks the nuts mate, white one with 17 inch RS 7 spokes, very nice mate

this is the only pic i got of it, would be good if someone else could pop the link up for ya mate, i would by havent got it

The worst things in my opinion are the daft spoilers that don't sit right or have led brake light in them, and when the exhaust doesn't even come out where it should...also I've seen one locally that has arches that are stupidly wide and look daft. The fibreglass bumpers are awful too, and also stick on bonnet vents!!!!

If you can get one where they have used proper parts and not cheap fibreglass copies then chances are it will look nice as long as its not been sprayed in a daft flip colour...that always gives it away.
