opinions on a few bits please
as thread title really, after opinions of the last few bits that have been happening on the car.
any likes or disslikes or maybe even the odd suggestion on how to make things a bit better.
(maybe im an attention seeking whore!!)
Dash and gauges slowly going in.
a fair amount still to do with this, still waiting on alot of interior carbon panels to complete it.
Front wings back from a secret expert engineer, and fitted up along with the bonnet.
hoping to be into the bodyshop for exterior paintwork beginning of next week.
so, honestly - have i ruined a perfectly good escort, or the little touches looking good!?
Cheers

As I said before Kelv, STOP spending and get the thing on the road!
Once its up and running if you fancy cages, fancy seats and gauges etc then get them AFTER the thing is on the road and you can use it!
Take a step back and see what an awesome car you have mate!

Cheers Euan.
its actually not that far off completion now anyway.
engine, box, diff's, props etc are all fitted.
once it comes out the bodyshop its just a case of engine bay works, dash electrics and gauges etc, then off to martoon once i get my delivery from Pro Alloy.
not the best pics, but shes in

I have seen it so many times and I admit to being guilty of it myself....
Buying tons of nice fancy bits before the car is even road worth, befroe you know it time and money are running out fast and it becomes harder to justify it to yourself.
The car doesnt have to have the best of everything! It already has ALOT of special bits and special engine so get it on the road and use it!

Karl, i have no idea how much wider they are.
they are exactly the same as Martoons, done by the same guy etc - infact they are done by the guy who used to do the wings for the boreham works cars.
not just wider, but have the WRC bubble aswell.
Doug, cheers
Dave, coming together now mate, im sure it will all look alot better when painted.
the wings are about a 3 -4 week turn around, purely down to how busy the guy is, but you will have to go via Martoon for the work to be done.

have to say kelv its looking spot on.im getting excited to see her done myself, and she's not mine.
the bonnet couldve done with the extra row of three in the middle, but still looks nice.lets hope it gets shot off enough heat.
the dash is beautiful mate.like that a hell of alot! and it will be a work of art when all the dash is together and the guages are in.
as for the arches! im damn jealous but i refuse to cut mine off just for that.oh and glad to be of help too mate.

Neil, thanks mate - and i do appreciate all the running around youve done for me
Jase, i didnt realise how much wider they were either until i actually got them on the car, i think its the shape that makes them appear that much wider, but they dont sit out that far compared to the wheels anyway.
Neil, i tried to take a few side on pics, but where the car is sat under the light and with the wings a bit shiny it kept reflecting so was hard to see in the pictures.
ill see wht i can get later for you
the main reason i decided to have these done was that i took them off to have carbon wings fited, spent hours trying to get them to line up and they were a pig, so a quick call to Martoon and my wings were sent away.
they still need a bit of fettling to get them perfect as they have to give a little to allow them to stretch that much, but when you get them back you see that the guy has re aligned the front mounting points and welded them back on and he supplys little metal hooks to allow you to pul the bases back to were they should be, its a 2 man job but pretty easy really

Cheers for the comments guys.
Adam, the bonnet isnt what i wanted either, after dropping the bonnet off to Kool Louvers and spending 20 minutes explaining exactly what i wanted i was quite pissed off when i returned to see that.
Brendan fobbing me off with 'he thought thats what i wanted as everyone normally has them that way', kind of felt id wated my time explaining what i wnated when he did something else anyway!!
Never mind, the quality of it is good and its not going to hurt anything, and i did haggle him down to a stupidly low price for the work.
will update a few pics next week when im back home again
Dave (Twins) off course the dash looks spot on, will look better with the other bits thats coming for it

Cheers again guys.
theres a fair bit more to do on the interior but its all coming together quite quickly now, possibly only a couple of says work for the interior.
Adam, im not telling you what i paid for the flocking, and its still not finished anyway, few under dash sections ive had to spend alot of time on triming to fit around the cage that still need flocking, and the door panels that had to be trimed to suit the cage, all then re shaped and kinda flocked.
Neil, your right mate, Barra box with the taller 5th gear, 60nm VC, and 3.9 step off in the transfer box, and then topped off with the Guido gear selector
