Default Cant Sell My Cossie

Well can people tell me how i can shift my escort as i have a deadline on getting my new vehicle and the dealer in question offered me 13k on the escort which is a joke, so if anyone could take pitty and buy my humble escort i would be a happy chappy.

Type of car, time of year etc etc, you could try asking Duncan at Automotive to put it on his website, but he will take a cut-may be your best bet, is it on Pistonheads too??
Good luck with the sale-it will go

not one for sticking my nose in but seems its only been for sale for a very short time... Vertually no car will sell quick, so you need to either take a huge price decrease to get rid or hold out and be patient...

It's a tough one mate. If you stick to your price it might take a while for the right buyer to come forward, and if you lower the price too much folk might think there's something wrong with it and avoid the car..

The time of year and the type of car it is is always going to be a problem. Most people appreciate and like the EsCoss' but few people want to pay 12k+ for them.

What I'd do is advertise it everywhere without sounding desperate. PistonHeads, Automotive Unlimited, Autotrader, Ebay and any other forums(You never know).

Like said above, you could get some cash together quick if needs be by breaking it. Thinks like the brakes, Defi's, Interior, Turbo, Hoses, Splitters, Bumper ect will go quick and get good money, but it's all the wee bits of plastic trim and the shell might take a while to shift.

Good luck either way..

Escort cosworths are hard to sell, because of the age of them against the price,

also insurance is high and its the wrong time of year

you have only just put yours up too it sometimes takes months for the right buyer,

best bet is to sell parts as said and put it back to standard then get your 13k at the dealers if you want a quick sale

I had a 40k Saff about 4 years ago and they offered me 3.5k
They obviously just rely on people being desperate for cash or a new car, I sold the saff for 8.5k

if your car is a 2 owner (father and son) full history low miles etc
its not worth not getting upset that it hasn't flown out the door.

jct 28 sell on autotrader, and you can too just hold out

also a long classified ad on ebay not just a 7 or 10 day auction
can work as loads of people see it.

1 other thing, taking a cheeky px can shift a car easier, if its somthing
you fancy and feel like driving about for a bit, then sell it on and
then have all your eggs in one basket

tbh 13k from a trader is good i think.bear in mind they want to make a profit.but in all honesty mate i'd hold out fro the right buyer.you've not given it long enough yet.these are special cars that only a minoritywill spend the cash they pull on.also,i always say everything happens for a reason!maybe the time your car takes to go may turn up a better new car for you?

Two very good replies

as said before, sell the goodies on as there seems to be someone looking out for some of the bits you have, return it to a more standard condition and then let the trader have it for the 13k - or there abouts

Cant honestly believe you were pulled over 35 times in 4 days, thats once every 2 hours and 45 mins.

No 35 times in 4 days, in court on the 11th Jan for section 5 public order, i said to the copper this is pissing me of with the harrasment.

Seems like dvla say i have no licience, even though i have produced my docs.
Its got that bad now that i have taken it to the Chief Constable and put in a written complaint.
Just really pissed off with how people in the force can make ones life so hard, think it boils down to this, in my younger day about 17 i was jack the lad made mistakes and pissed them off. I grew up got a life and sorted out my bad attitude. However certain coppers from that arror still have it in for me, and to make matters worse, i met a woman thats a copper and this is when the have just kept popping at me in every way going till i snapped and said i was pissed off.

Thinking about taking it to the press.

Regards

Don't let the Bastards grind you down mate, keep the car and just stay legal Nothing fucks a copper off more than them not being able to do you for anything

Presuming you sleep for 8hrs a day that would mean that over a 4 day period if you were driving the remaining 16 hrs a day then you would have been stopped every 1.8 hrs on average. But if it worked out that you only drove 8 hrs every day then you did'nt manage an hour without plod giving you grief

I was pulled 5 times in the space of leaving the police station and driving home which is just under 3.8 miles and when on the 5 time i was pulled for having so called illegal number plates i gave the cooper a peice of my mind and told him that the next copper to pull me i would swing for and that i was pissed off with it. Well next thing i know got 11 of the cunts smashing me to the floor and roughing me up, good thing about it, was the local buses have cctv on the front and rear of the coaches and it recorded the whole lot.

My solicitor feels that because i have made 6 formal complaints on the grounds of harrasment and for the abuse my partner has got from so called colleagues, the Police are doing all they cn to discredit my complaints by saying they were justified in there actions because i was aggressive.

I Want it to go to Crown Court, but seeing as only section 5 Public it can only be tried by Magistrates which is a shame.
People may find this hard to follow or take in, but i have no reason to make it up, being fucking honest the Police can make up the rules to suit them, I wish i had a ozi, i would shoot the fooking lot

Well as a result of being pulled 3 times and told by some jumped a little PC that my car is now to loud and that my dump valve is causing a breech of the police for being to noisy, i nearly wet myself with laughter. Been given a 7 day defect notice to put it right, well wonder how i can overcome this hurdle.

I so am looking forward to passing this to the News of the World, for fucks sake, i dont use the car late at night, i dont drive around like a nob, i go and pick the other half up from the Police station that she is based in, and being fair to the Traffic cops they have been fair with me and given me no trouble, its the typical frustrated pc with a power trip or little man syndrome.

Well things seem to be on the up with the selling of the Cossie. Have a guy interested in viewing the car.
Have just spent the last 3 days cutting the paintwork back on the car and using the ultimate detailing machine that i brought. It was my first time having a go at detailing, but the results speak for them selfs, although i think i could of used better stuff than the stuff from simonz, so will look in to others.

Well will post some pics of the car up and hope that people like the results.

Regards

Gareth
