Owned both, miss the esc cos, dont miss the Focus.
Focus is a stonking car dont get me wrong and better standard than an esc cos (in the dry )
imo depends what you want it for. For weekend blasts the esc cos. Everyday the focus

Have both and love them both.
But if one HAD to go it would be the EsCos.
Can't give a reasonable explanation for it though

here's the solution, lock your cossy in the garage and leave it there for a month don't look at it, no peaking

if you can make it for a month, bring it out of the garage stand back and take a deep breath and thank yourself that you didn't sell it

thats an ace response

i drove both before i bought my escort, and i dunno, something just didn't gel for me - steering felt a bit strange to me although I was used to a 4x4 saph.

bought a small turbo escort, and not regretted it and i know i made the right choice.

gotta be the escort for me never drove a focus rs but a good few of the focus rs"s that come up for sale always seem to have "will part ex for escort cossie" so that has to be another reason to keep the escort

depends on what you want to use the car for, we have an escos & frs, the escos is a great car, more of an icon & gets the power down better, downsides are that an escos is not really an everyday car & its so heavy.
An frs is a modern car, can be used everyday with less worry, as standard is better equiped & quicker than an escos, downsides are the lack of traction, but its still a great car to drive.

yep I sold my red one years ago and it was the most stupid thing I have ever done, afterwards I spent 5 years buying performance ford and fast ford and nearly wetting myself when I saw one on the road, in between had a BMW 330Ci, Subaru STi8 PPP and an Evo VIII GSR with 340hp and still nothing comes close

mine has been in the garage for a couple of weeks having some bit and bobs done and I am off to collect in an hour and I'm like a kid at xmas, the suns out, I have an extra 30hp and 50lbs can life get any better

your best bet is to test drive a focus rs BEFORE you sell the escos. I could probably guarentee the Focus wont come anywhere near the escos.

Id keep the escos, alot rarer, more iconic, more fun and alot more cooler than the focus rs

The focus RS is a good car but doesn't have the WOW factor like the Escort cosworth. Keep the Escort & save your pennies, the focus will drop in price to the same level as the ERST & FRST are now.

i have seen loads of people sell the ecos for a focus RS and within a year have sold there focus and bought another cossie or a evo...

WHY? because people think there missing out on something when really they dont know what they have its only when you get another car realise how boring/dull it is and that you regret selling the ecos...

So IMO if you wanna change your car abour 3-4 times in the next yr or 2 buy a focus RS cause it certainly isn't and never will be what a ecos is...

thanks for all the replies i have road tested one at the weekend and quite liked the way it drove but just cant decide as the escort cos has always been my dream car ever since they were released back in 1992 but my misses likes the focus rs more than the escos. i use my cossy every day and love it to bits and i do think i would miss it if i sold it i think i may have to try putting it away as said in one of the replies and see how i feel about it then. thanks again for your input
