Default Help please. Engine Trouble.

Please help, I have a large turbo escort, a few months ago I snapped a con rod and put a hole in the block. I've spent everything on a new bottom end and the head repair. After putting it all together, it started fine but the oil light was dim and the rev counter whilst reading was jumping around. Then after just 10 miles at no more than 50mph and 2500 revs, the car was running rougher and rougher on lifting the bonnet, the header tank was empty and the water was in the oil. Im at my wits end and my pockets are empty. Any suggestions as to what this could be? Cheers

I had the bottom end built and the head repaired for me by Racetek, using a new long-studded 200 block, h-section rods, cosworth racing forged pistons, escort crank and a cometic head gasket. Any ideas?

Did they put it back together?
If so, just go back.

All sorted now, it was just the head gasket, thanks to Ian. Panic over. Thanks again Ian I'm so happy it's all done, the engine is sweet, see you soon. Cheers
