Fuel Pump rewiring
Hi, mates.
Does anybody rewired the fuel pump?
There are too much voltage loosing with original ford wiring (too thin wires, too much connectors and very bad connector on the pump plate).
Have anybody realized ideas and may be some photoes of this modifications?

But interesting how and for what kind of connector to change the weak original ford connector on the plate of in-tank fuel pump...
Just saw a SAAB in-tank fuel pump plate connector. It's huge and mach stronger then the Ford one

About size of cables, I want to use slightly thicker size then the original, but mostly I want to exclude too much connectors from this circuit. I reckon 5!!! of them from battery to tank plate, and some of them was warm, some hot.
And when on the battery I had 14V, on the tank plate connector I had 8.5V I removed this space heater in the connectors, but now I have little more then 12V.
2V drop.
I think that's not good yet...

20K+ Super Poster.
You will always get a certain voltage drop on any cable unless it is the SUPER CONDUCTOR TYPE, but then only at -34C!!
Copper has a resistance of 0.000999 OHMs/FOOT.
28/030 wire or thinwall 32/020 wire, will be perfcetly addequate.
You can use the formula,
R=pL/A to determine the resistanc if you wish of the exact length of wire.
