check that the dimmer switch hasn't come disconnected. failing that if your exterior lights work then could be a blown fuse somewhere

Dave
outside the car everything works
only my instrumentals licht doesn't work
the indicotors on the instrumentals work also, like fuel, battery, biglight, handbrake,...

Default Lighting

Hi Mate, i have had the same problem with my cossie, and know how this silly problem can really get on your nerves.
I have done the following things to sort my problem out.
1. The indicator stalk provides power to the electricial system, this can fail, causing lighting faults, so i replaced this and some problems sort themselfs out.
2. The lighting system on the turbo pod disconnect the supply to this and test the system with a lamp, if your getting power to it then it can be a bad earth.
3. The cossie dash runs on elctro luminscene, not bulbs like my local ford dealer told me. Over the years the dash can break down causing the luminscene to fail, if this happens then it can be hard to track down new clocks as ford discontinued them.
There is a company in Itlay that make replacement luminscene dial for the cossie with uprated boost and increased mph, it also contains the luminscene.
The link is www.birba.com
4. Try the dimmer switch under the coloum, wire it directly in and if the clocks work then this is the problem. If they do your need a new inverter.

Im no mechanic and only doing things that i have been told to try, hope this helps you.

Regards

Gareth

Has anyone had these above dial kits fitted? if so are they any good? wouldn't mind a new set to get rid of the slight blotches, would it be best to put a new invertor in while there out and in bits? Cheers Mark

If its not the dimmer wire come off then it's almost certainly the inverter in the back of the clocks. When this goes you loose all the gauge lighting but everything still works.

Unfortunately the inverter board is no longer available but you can make a replacement.
