steering racks give up, fluid pissing out o/s and loads of play in steering wheel whilst on my way to fetch a chinese takeaway for tea last night, i was close to the chinese so i thought bollox to it and carried on ( its only about 2 miles from home any way ), pulls up at the takeaway pulls on the handbrake and SNAP!.. the centre cable decides to break, i thinks fook me whats going on.......leaves her in gear and go in takeaway, starts driving home just starting to go dusk, me thinks better have some sidelights on, switches em on and the bastard dash lights are flickering up n down... ..gets home has a look at the front n rear lights and they are doing the same, now this is the one i ain't to sure about, i'm thinking fuse box or maybe alternator, has any one had this trouble with an ESCOS...... if you have, let us know what it was..... ..cheers...

 

the light problem could well be something to do with the coloum switch, on the normal escort go bad & normally the dash lights & rear lights stop working. Best to get it checked out properly.
