Last I saw a rear quarter go for was £800 a side. Very very rare these days.

So we're all pretty much fucked if someone hits our rear quarters.

Just as well if they posted one out, you'd recieve a Transit wing

" No it's not a Transit wing it's a new genuine 909 Escos quarter"

thanks guys managaed to stumble accross atm last night.

Its a shame ford dont realise there are still 100's of old school ford enthusiasts with cosworths/xr's/capri's etc etc and they dont have a service to sort replacment pannels out for them.

Even if they only make a batch of 100 and dont make anymore to there all sold or something like that.

Im sure most people would perfer to pay 1k for a ecos panel than give there car up on insurance and get a equivlent car what isnt a ecos after your car has been smashed up.

I work at a press shop making car pannels and structural parts...although my job isnt to do with this (weld process engineer)

Basically to justify a run of a part you need to produce at least a few thousand....thats minimum really...

As the presstool needs to be maintained, sharp and in good order (can cost a fair ammount of money and time if its been left standing for 15yrs) then it has to be sep up on a press (or various presses if its done in more than one hit), materials, operators overheads etc....

Basically I think that ford might have done a few thousand many moons ago now theyre all dispersed and gone...the rally boys must have used a fair few in their day.

So tbh thats why.......A better way of doing it would have been to release so many pannels each year or so to keep the breed alive....

problem mostly is that the ford computers show the stock as present but when you try to order the part in question its untracable that happend me a few times i bought mine off ebay from Engels renntechnik (from the imitation rondells wheels)

Quater panels have been numerous in stock - that I am sure (I'bve checked small turbo though with fuel flap). They are very expensive as well.

I tried to get a tailgate today

No longer available according to my local dealer and they said they checked daventry.

They also tried "IDEX" ??? it's meant to find Ford parts anywhere in the world and they said a garage in Czechoslovakia had one

Bugger

The tailgates went to the Ford Clearance Centre ages ago - when the RSOC bought some parts from them a while back there were loads of Cossy tailgates lined up apparently. I was told they were earmarked for crushing because noone wanted to buy them

I also checked the front wing situation about a fortnight ago. Passenger wings are still available for £300 ish, but the drivers ones are NLA.

Apparently Ford will keep things in Daventry as long as they continue to sell. If, however they have a large stock of something and only sell a handful a year (like Cossy tailgates). They'll get rid of the stock to free up the space for something else.

I took the day off work and drove down to ATM this morning
Picked up a brand new tailgate for £150, they have two left if anyone has the need for one.
The place is a bit of an Aladins Cave for Cosworth parts, they had a bloody great van full of brand new big turbo rear quarters

I think they are out of date and have gone up a bit
They claim to have bought the last of the panels direct from Ford in germany, how true this is I do not know ?

Funny, "only" £411,35 on their website while they were trying to sell a set a few weeks back on Ebay for £1000
Might have to visit them to see what it's really all about.
