RSOC registrar

the registrar is supposed to do an article for rallye news every 2 months at least, last time i think was around 2001, go for it steve but i think you need to be in the "inner circle" to stand a chance

In what respect? surely because he buys, sells & restores them that makes him all the more capable of doing the job. Remember, its not a paid position so he can hardly use it to his advantage.
You could say the same about Paul @ North Yorks couldn't you?

some people could think that about paul aswell yes, but surely what john does in his day Job could directly effect his valuations,
eg he restores a car for a customer, then he has to value it for insurance purposes in his role of registrar, that is leaving him open to all sorts of accusations,
i'm, not getting at John at all, he genuinely does know his stuff and after seeing him at a few agm's he isn't shy at coming forward!!
lol

i will be having a go at this there isnt much i dont know about these cars if anything!!!!!!! if i get elected i can promise people there will be some grate times ahead for esc cos owners as i have alot of good ideas in the pipeline!!!!! my phone is allways on and must give numerous people advise every week who phone just for advise. getting back to what your saying steve as monster said my knowledge and commitment to the cars only makes me an even better man for the job just because i work with these cars makes no difference i wont let myself be left open to anything as im a fair guy paul at north yorks is no different to me at all . any way lets wait and see till the agm if thers a better man for the job out there good luck to him cheers john.

i think what is being got at here is that people may think that john would under value a car to make anything he has seem better maybe? dont know.
as said the same could be said of paul at north yorks though and havent heard much in the way of probs on that yet.
lets be honest people, anyone is better than phil though. (not meant as a negative comment on you john as i dont know you mate)

At the end of the day you have to be able to trust the registrar to give an unbiased valuation on your car. & i dont think John would give a better valuation to one of 'his' cars than to one he's not had anything to do with, its a pretty small community is the RS scene nowadays & it wouldn't take long for word to get round that he's an unfair registrar & that would be disastrous to his business. The guy still has to put food on the table & pay his debts just like eveeryone else & I for one dont think he's stupid enough to jeopardise his families wellbeing just so that he can over value his own cars or under value other peoples cars.
just my opinion

I know what you are saying mate. what ive put is not my view but just what some may well think.
if this chap is as good as you/him say then it can only be a good thing.
ive only had my experience with saunders through my saff but he fucked me about and i did not appreciate it at all and he bloody knew it after!

I had a lot of back stabbing when i got the 500 reg, job as many thought i had a conflict of intrest .
I do the job as beat i can , I have tried very hard to help other 500 owners and have been involved with quite a few car sales for people over the last few months and i have had a lot of thanks from buyers and sellers who have said i helped so much and with no gain to myself
Its about TRUST, as said this job isnt a paid job and takes a lot of effort and time .
I have put my own money into having banners made , and getting T shirts etc made ( the Shirts i will be repaid for by the members ) but i paid for the banner myself .
another point is valuations ,
I feel if you ask most 500 owners i have been fair in my valuations and given people honest reviews of the car and its insurance value
I also would like to point out that my own 2 500"s were valued by the previous registrar and the values have stayed the same
I feel John Taylor would be a fantastic registrar and would be his usuall honest stand up self ,Go for it John

From what I have heard about John Taylor, he seems to be just the man for the job who actually seems to care about the cars and thier owners, which IMHO is 95% of the battle won already

steve i totaly know what you are saying and really apreciate it ,but you are going to get people like that in every role in any job, my main concern is the cars and there owners i have got loads of things up my sleeve for escort owners all i will say is you wont be dissapointed. i have allready been looking into the spoiler isue for some time now there is a lot of complications with that but it aint over till its over!!!!!!!!! back to the job i would give it my best and ive never been a registra but i know it isnt an easy job and can be very time consuming but thats all part of it. cheers john

i remember suggesting you for registrars position a while back on rsoc site john, but cant remember what you said it would be nice if the new registrar could come on here as well as the rsoc sites and be in touch with the esc cos owners, something phils never done at all, good luck anyway, although you shouldnt need it think you will easily get voted in with all your knowledge and skills
