Default Rear door cards....

Right decided to try and sort out the wiring on my car yesterday, so stripped out the interior (carpet, seats etc etc) Now i realised the previous owner before my mate was well into his sound systems, but fuck me this is ridiculous!!...........

So started by cutting out all the old speaker wires, and came across 2 wires which ran up behind the rear door cards. My being a nosey F***er had to have a look, and found this monstrosity!!

The bloke had used bloody loft insulation as sound proofing FFS!

Bloody well made mind, just not my cup o tea........ So now residing in the skip at work!

Other piccys:

Which leads me to my question...

Anybody got pictures of thier rear door cards..

I think this bloke has ruined the rear door card, are these a straight swap from another model? Or is it a case of getting them sorted and retrimmed somewhere?

Are the rear door cards in 2 pieces? or is that just mine!

MDF everywhere

the rear door cards are 1 piece and I think the mk5 rs2000 ones are the same shape but the patterns diff.

I've got a set front and rear for mine when I get around to getting them flocked haven't tried them in the car yet but they look the same.

I think you'll struggle to get a set of cossie ones as I've got the person who bought my seats gagging for the doorcards when I get around to selling them.

Franco, Homo

when you say in 2 pieces, are they split by the seat locking mech and then a seperate panel into the boot?

just that your cards look 1 piece to me in the pics, all barr the shonky wood on the back of the cards.

Right update, took some pictures of these door cards last night.

You can see where he's cut a big section out of the original door card here

And this is the part which SEEMS to have been added

The other side of the second piece

So if anybody could take a picture of their door card to post up, I'd be grateful!

Right judging by them piccys mine have been well butchered!

What makes people do this!

Dan did you car have leather? as if yes then i'll be looking for a set like the 4th pic down........

Is it me or do the rs2000 ones look similar?!?!?! Just need retrimming in grey leather

PS ahh that old number plate brings them flooding back!

yup yours are well fucked

the guy who done it was prob well pleased with his efforts to cover up the "install"

yup my car had full leather in it but now only saff front seats

I'm gonna use the rs2000 ones in mine once I've fitted the cage

I've gotta decide if I'm gonna get them flocked or recovered in leather. I've got the front cards too which I'm gonna get the armrest strengthened as the orig drivers one has got a crease in it and again flocked or re-leathered.

I'm 99% they are the same I'll double check later and let you know.

P.s the ally cage is not my idea they new owner wanted it

i think any 2 door mk5 ones will fit, only diff is the lack of ash trays which you could easily cut out and fit if you were bothered , once retrimmed youd never know

I thought kelv has offered you his ones?

I've said to the guy who bought the seats he has first refusal on them when I take them out and I've still gotta sort the cage and the replacements out too.

you could do what the radman said.

i've just seen what you've written so I'll go check for you.
