Dont come on here thinking your clever i know that one has a bigger turbo than the other

wanted to know what the other differences there are other than the engine please?

List anyone?

Door mirrors and fuel cap has a cover rather than going straight into the rear quarter

Any more don’t all jump at once

 

Aside from engine related & Ecu differences:

Door Mirrors
Door crash bars & steel 'safetycage'
Fuel flap on bodyshell
Steering wheel air bag, and passenger one later IIRC (Some late LT's had steering wheel airbag)
Visible Vin no. on dash
Slightly heavier (due to extra crash protection)
Anti-submarine front seats
Door lock shielding with strengthened mountings
Additional bracing for steering column
Seat belt pre-tensioners & grabbers
Different immobiliser system ('Red' key linked to ECU)
Different colour options for paint.

 

my small t has the following big t parts fitted from the factory=

big mirrors
no airbag
wipac immobiliser (as opposed to the ford red key)
big turbo badges on bootlid

this is because mine is a very early small t and was built for the export market, some other early small t cars had big mirrors and big t badges aswell, but I have yet to see a factory small t with no airbag!

i know you didnt ask for turbo differences, but hey

big esc cos turbo is TB3403
small is TB2807

Engine differences also include;
Bigger throttle body on small turbo
Bigger boost hoses on small tubo
different heads, cam covers.
coil packs (2) instead of dizzy
small turbo had more sophisticated oil injector set up on oil delivery into bottom end.

some small turbo's have passenger airbags too

 

thanks for all the info guys i didnt need to know engine wise as i knew all of that it was just body wise and bill you cleard most of that up

Yep, with you there matey.... i have big mirrors, Fuel cap not flap, Wipac immobiliser, I have both airbags.

Small (early) Turbo Registered 31st December 1994

 

Mine is an early St mate its got the Bt mirrors, Bt rear badges, Wipac immobiliser, St fuel flap and twin air bags, strange old carry on the change over from Bt to St.

 

emptying the parts bins Mine is one of the last off the line, very late 96 , so full lux spec with twin bags etc

 

You'll quite often get some irregularities on a model spec' changeover, usually as above (parts bin).
