Default Removing under bonnet heat lagging ???

I am thinking of taking the heat laggin off to reduce under bonnet temps
and putting some reflective mat on the bonnet just above the turbo.

Is there any probs with doing this ??? or has anyone else done this ?

Need to know where to get the matting from aswell

Ta..

Al.......

All i will say is make sure you use some heat refective tape over the turbo area. My saph came without the insulation and after i fitted the T4 it burnt the paint off above it.

Thats what the Heatsheild is for... Mine has been fine, even though the paint isnt great on the underside of my bonnet, it makes it look more tidy. depending on what state the lagging is in.

I think the lagging is there for sound deadning as much as for heat insulation. It is fitted on many cars that aren't exactly high performance - Cavaliers, Vectras, Astras. It is always fitted on the top models - CDX Elite etc - This is for refinement rather than heat.

I've take mine off and had no trouble, but if you are fitting a massive turbo then I could see that you might have a paint problem.

Cheers

Paul
