what is this small thing to the left of my ignition module? Its on a big turbo escort cosworth. 
any ideas, what it is for.

IF I GET THE PART NUMBER AND PUT IT UP CAN SOMEONE ON HERE LET ME KNOW WHAT IT IS, BECAUSE THE FORD DEALERS HERE IN AUSTRALIA ARE ABOUT AS MUCH USE AS A CHOCOLATE TEAPOT ON COSWORTH BITS. MOST OF THEM DONT EVEN KNOW WHAT A COSWORTH IS (IF ITS NOT V8 THEY ARE NOT ITERESTED).

it is a surpressor for the rev counter feed.
it limits the spike of the back emf from the coil colapsing so as not to damage the tacho electronics.
if you go coilpack via a MSD conversion, you need to unplug this and short out the wires, or chop the connecotr off and join them together in the loom.
