right well basically, i bought a 2nd set of clocks that were not the best for cheap money and made mine good using both sets, i just swapped and changed things in the process, but i did damage the fuel and temp gauge when doing it so i had to buy another set to cure it,
i know its hardly the rpely you wanted but im afraid that what i had to do,
it was a risk buying the clocks as i ddi not know what condition they were in,
S.Hannah
no problem, just did not want to be taken as an ignorant person when im not, thank you for the apology

thats the only prob when buying s/hand ones, they could be well shagged, when they appear on ebay the sellers always seem to say "i havent tested these as they were for a project that never hapened" in other words, i bought these to replace my blotchy ones and these are even worse also make sure you get the right ones as the small t guages were slightly diff, think it was the rev counter? or fuel guage cant remember [its an age thing]

Are people actually bothered about having the guage glow?
I mean if you were having a problem getting the electroluminecent coating to work properly and couldn't find a decent set to replace them with, would you be bothered about having the clock light up with hidden LED's directed at the clocks so light shined onto the clocks?

ST rev counters are different because the T25 runs a wasted spark system whereas the big turbo's don't.
You can get around this by swapping the face around onto the right "mechanism" for you car. Not too hard really...

Its a very simple answer,if your clock faces are dim after fannying round with the invertor then get a birba set and stick em in..your clocks will then light up like you want and you will be able to throw the antidepressants in the bin.....this subject has been going on for years now.The birba faces look pretty much original..........i mean who has a completely untouched 'ORIGINAL' escos.not bloody many i bet
