Hi Mate

take it off when the cars cold!!! There is a 10mm nut down the back of the shield on the outside of it just underneath the brake master cylinder almost level with the bottom of it.....be careful not to drop this into the undertray if you have one!!!! been there done that as its tricky to get hold of.

Just above that one on the inside of the shield (why i said do it cold) is another nut which is either 11,12 or 13mm. This is easy to get at if you loosen the hose that goes to the bottom of the turbo from the intercooler as you can get under the actuator and down the side of the shield so much easier.

You may have to undo the bolts that hold it to your air filter if you have them?????

If you have a strut brace i advise removing it?????

Then it sort of twists off due to the securing bolts being on the inside and outside of the shield you will see what i mean when you can see the bracket that you have taken the nuts off.........Easy really

good luck!!!

the lower one is a 13mm and even i can get my beefbuger hands with sausages for fingers down to it (only when cold ) you need a 13mm socket with a short extension bar and a short handled ratchet.

the top one that locates in the airbox is usually 10mm , this only need loosining and it slides out - literally a 2 min job once you are familiar with where to push you arm in

theres one right at the bottom inline with the strut, and one on left as you are stood in front of it just below brake accumulator,i notched my h/shield for the bottom one as its just a case of slipping it on/off then in future

Any luck with this MAD????

I dropped my creative carbon one yesterday got away with it though in a big way!!!! my own fault i had polished the turbo whilst it was off and had just polished the shield with some meguiars ready to put it back on and it was that slippy it just went, the world seemed to freeze for that split second it took for it to land on the block paving.......but boy was i lucky

Yes mate very!!!!

Can you see the 2 holes on this pic of my old one??ignore the one that secures the sheild to the air filter at the top its the other 2 that matter. Imagine the shield sitting in place, the hole at the very bottom below the brake accumulator (thanks radman ) has the 10mm nut on the OUTSIDE of the shield. The other hole in the middle height just below the actuator on the INSIDE of the shield is held on with a 13mm nut. as ive said before this is really easy to get too if you loosen the hose that goes from the bottom of the turbo to the intercooler so you can get your arm down inside to undo it. ( find the shortest 13mm you have as not much room to undo the nut, ratchet spanner would help )

If you still cant find it the best advice i can give you is to imagine the outside of the shield is a womans tit and rub your hands all over it until you find the nipple!!! As with women usually once the nipples had some attention you can get inside which as in this case is what you need to do!!!

Good luck Mate!!
