ap 6 pot owners help please!!!!!
Hi All
I have AP 6 pots on my cossie, the problem i have is they came supplied with Ferodo DS2500 pads which leave the wheels black with dust in no time even with gentle use!!!! ( i hate dirty wheels ) The caliper model is CP5570 ive spoken to EBC about some red stuff pads and they dont have any pads listed for my calipers but will make me some if i want ......££££ springs to mind!!!! i thought all cosworth APs were the same which surprises me that EBC dont list them????
what pads do you guys run in your 6 pots and are they low dust ??
Thanks
Martin

Surely if youve gone for AP 6 pots then you are after decent braking power?
for the size and temperature the brakes will be getting to if used to there optimum then brake dust is to be expected - or did you only want them for the bling factor??
Mike R runs his AP 6pots with the DS3000 pads and the braking was out of this world.
IMO - cleaning the wheels a little more often is hardly a sacrifice for having decent stopping power

@ Kelv!!!!
The brakes were bought with stopping in mind i can assure you if i wanted bling brakes i'd have followed arty lofts route and chromed them!!!
KJC: The rondells are easy to clean yes but since the brakes have been fitted the inside of the wheels have started to discolour and i have pinkish colour blotches that will only come off with cutting compound!!! and i dont like using that too much.....i may be a bufty but wheels on and off all the time is a bit too much even for me!!
Dave 4x4: i will call EBC to check your codes with them and hope they were wrong!!
thanks to all who have responded

greenstuff pads ....fucking horrid, I wouldn't put them on a lawnmower , wooden feel, shite stopping power and dusty as hell , mate had a set in his renault 19 16v, not quite a 350bhp cossie I know, but he thought they were shite as well, don't know how EBC get away with it ...
DS2500's are superb, put them in when I changed from my 1/4 worn greenstuff pads as I was sooo fucked off with them , into an AP 4 pot calliper, %500 better pad, yes it does make a lot of dust but you get loads of pedal feel and the car actually stops, dosn't just make a funny smell and sqeak like greenstuffs , and they will take repeaded 150MPH-0 without fading
If you want to try a different pad Pagid blues are meant to be really good for fast road, bit pricey though I think
