air sucking in thrugh dump valve!!
when i rev the car you can hear a sucking of air from around the dump valve area(cold side)or possibly from around the inlet manifold, could quite work out from where but around that area!!!this is not right is it?????i thought the only sucking you would hear should be around the air filter??or am i worring about nothing??cheers in advance

if you've got a vent to atmosphere DV on a BT escos, it will suck air all the time until some boost in produced and the diaphragm is forced shut from above. this is a big problem IMO, as unfiltered air can and does get sucked into the engine, hence why i removed mine altogehter and bunged it all up. just change the std air filter regularly as it offers superior filtering performance and achinves as good a air flow when its new/ nealr new as some panel filters which by virtue of their design will allow small particles of dirt through.

This is a known problem, this is why alot of the Escort Cosworth DV's have a air filter on the top. Have a look at the Spec R, Forge and GGR ones.
