mat,big or small turbo? as the small turbo doesnt have the chargecooler on the end of the intercooler so the pipe off the stat housing points the other way

cant you just fit a longer bolt and a nyloc nut/washer on the back? i bet a new one will be £80+

75 quid second hand at the mo
I am going to try to tap out the thread and use an M8 bolt-I just dont want it to look weird in the engine bay

It is top left Nick but this is visible?
it's the bolts that hold the front to the actual housing-ie both parts sandwich the stat and it's the bolt thread on the block side that has decided to die
that is probably a rubbish description-sorry
