I think Ł12k should get you a half decent useable one. With a budget of Ł12k, you could be looking at ones advertised at around the Ł13k mark with the view of knocking them down a bit. So a pretty decent 60/70/80,000 miler may not be out of the question at all.
As long as the mechanicals are all good, look out for crunchy gear boxes, smokey turbo's, slipping clutches and head gasket problems at this mileage. Might also be worth looking for one thats had some engine work or a rebuild at that sort of mileage too as most seem to be ready around then.

there are some cheap ones to be had , this one seems very nice , but a viewing may turn out to be different , ya never know.... the main thing to worry bout when buying an escos is always gonna be tidy bodywork , original panels and make sure it's got NO previous poorly repaired accident damage , comprehensive history is a must , and an hpi report is definately worth the effort.
other than that its basically the same as buying any other vehicle.... insist on a LONG test drive and be listening for anything untoward , dont be frightened to put ya foot down on test drive , as at the end of the day , that is what they are built for , that is why you are buying one , and that is an area where problems with the engine whilst under load/boost may begin to show thier head!!!
