Default HELP ! Standard CD Player

My EsCos has the standard radio cassette player fitted. I would like to put a CD palyer in as I intend to use the car more. Not being an ICE fanatic, I would be happy with the standard Ford system.
A couple of questions if anyone can help

A. As a 6-10 CD player was an optional extra, is the wiring already there in the loom. If I can find an original Ford item to fit in the boot will it just plug in.

B. What model of Ford head will I need to put in the dash in place of my original radio casstte.

C. If the above is not possible what would the best option.

Many thanks for any help

cheapest and easiest option is gonna be to go for a 2007rds radio cassette head unit , and a cd2040 slave unit , both are ford items and will fill the 2 slots in ya dash nicely!!

i'm sure ya could uncover some s/h items on e-bay or through forums etc...

Cheers L9KOS, will have a look around, is the CD2040 a single or multi stack player ?

single disc , but easier to get hold of than the multi's!! , plus this option looks a little better i think , as it fills both holes in ya dash , and gets rid of the coin tray (in my oppinion the coin tray has a poverty spec look about it , as with it bein a standard din shaped hole , it looks like summats missing innit!!)

To run these HU's you will need an new ford radio loom, they are VERY difficult to get, though there was (or is) one on EBay a while back...

nobody as cd's now, its all mp3,s get a mp3 player then there is no need for multichanger etc. if you ever get rid of the car just pop the old one back in. i got one off ebay kenwood 9524 £160 suppose to be near the £500 mark. make sure you get a english one though not american as they dont tune in properly.
