How many miles do you do a year in your escos?????

Ive done around 1000 miles in 6 months of ownership, so ill say around 2000 miles a year.

Its right what they say though......the less you use it, the more you appreciate it when you do.

My car had 42,750 miles on it when I bought it 14 months ago, it now has 42,750 miles on it

Hasn't seen tarmac since I bought it

Hopefully going to get it MOT'd next month, then I can get in my pride and joy and get a few miles on it

Can't wait i'm getting impatient, people keep asking about it and saying "does it go well" but I don't know, i've never driven it or another Cossie

you've had the car for 14th months, and not driven it once
Sod that, seem like a complete waste IMO - fair enough if you want to limit the milage you do, but not to drive it at all seems to be lunacy IMO! - kind of defeats the point in buying one....

It should say the less you use it, the more bloody things go wrong with it
The little Cossie pixies go in my garage in the winter and usually create some sort of havoc that I dont find till I want to drive it in the summer -although touch wood they couldn't get in this year as it started and nothing has gone wrong

Totally agree Had a TVR, supposedly unreliable, used it daily, never missed a beat.
I also drive my sierra daily, done so for 8 years now and again, totally reliable.
Left it in the garage for 4 weeks recently to sort out odds and sods and got delayed because of work, as I drove it out of the garage, things like indicator stalks, window switches, etc... felt really lazy They're ok now they are being exercised daily though

Drive your cars, that's what they were designed for you know

Probably because most are used as second cars so only come out occasionally, at weekends and for shows etc.

For me, it also very much depends on the weather. Theres no way id even consider getting mine out with even the slightest sign of dampness on the road.

Like I said before mate, I think most people who use them as second car or dont use them much, appreciate them more when they do get them out. If i used mine every day, it wouldnt feel so special I suppose.

I do approximately 25000 miles a year in my Escort Cosworth.

I don’t agree with that statement “the less you use it, the more you appreciate it when you do”. Every time I drive it, it brings a smile to my face. Driving it so frequently, your really get to know the car. And it’s so damn reliable.

Yes mate, when I bought it, it was in a sorry old state so rather than drive it, I put it straight in the garage and stripped it to a bare rolling shell. Then took it for a full respray. Pretty much all back together now, just waiting for the new alarm/immobiliser to be finished, front bumper and side skirts to fit and a few trim items. Hopefully have it MOT'd for June or July.
It will be my second car but I intend to use it whenever I can in the summer (as long as its not raining)

Cheers

Paul

I knew that would be the kiss of death with a statement like "And it's so damn reliable". The top heater hose split this morning on the way to work, and directed a jet of water directly onto the exhaust pipe. Needless to say, this was under full boost and hooking third. The steam being ejected through the bonnet vents, and out the back was quite spectacular. Managed to get into a lay-by within 100 yards or so, so the temperature didn’t have time to climb etc. AA man fixed me up, and a full set of Samco hoses are on order with GGR.
