Mate do what Damo said, mine did exactly the same! when you check the meter readings off the ECU it was telling us that the air temp sensor was failing.
Had Me, Gadget, Mark & Ahmed at Grove miffed.............Till ahmed was fooking about with the loom and Mark glanced over to see the ECU module program on his laptop going crazy!
Been fine ever since!
I'll bet a tenner with you its that!

Hi
mine did the same things after rebuild, changing all the sensores, plugs, fuel pump,......
but only the fuse box was the problem
on high boost i had only 6- 7V on my coil with the old one!

Checked that live feed to the ECU tonight so it came back with a reading of 13.65v so that seems to be ok.
while i was in about the ECU i thought id check and see what chip the car was running.
Has a GGRL2V8P8 Guessing that is a GGR Level 2 version 8?
Any ideas what this should be power wise? i thought around the 280 mark
Franco
The bodge shall take place on Sat

bloke put it on mate and said the eprom was playing up or something to that extent??? so he said it could be the chip, yet i removed it tonight and it still did the same so i am unsure what it could be, next is to do what damo suggested about the soldering of the wires, and also i am going to order a lambda sensor as it works best when thats unplugged so that still maybe my problem...
so not much progress from me!!!

Ok fingers crossed i might have found the problem
Removed the rear bumper to check the pump wiring as it was all showing good up the front end. What i found was a very very corrodid connection. Tried to pull it apart slightly so that i could get the meter probes on and it fell apart in my hands
Stuck it back together and fired up the car and am getting just over 12V ish on the pump side of the connection.
I have had to cut around 1ft of cable back on the earth side to find good clean cable so i will solder in some fresh ones tomorrow night and see how it is after that.
I also had the Auto Spark round so multi plugs on the inner wing will be no more next week
Couple of pics

Funny how all the other wiring on the car is perfect. Someone has been there before though as loads of insulating tape wraped round everything

You were lucky if that is the cause of missfire, as THAT is prime culprit for a meltdown mate!!
Funnily enough mine were as clean as a whistle to...... !!
They are no more now though, gone to the wiring bin in the sky

It just where the wiring sits though tucked up behind bumper subjected to all the elements
Remember to run a fresh earth wire to somewhere in the boot u don't need to have it connected to the original earth loom
or use both the original and a fresh earth wire u should find once you rewired it you should get a voltage reading above 13v if not u need to run yaself a seperate feed from battery and a relay setup
just outta interest has the car got an uprated pump fitted or not?

Ok update,
Soldered in some wires tonight and got a reading of 12.7v. Better than it was but still down on what everyone has been saying.
Took the car for a blast and the missfire is still there
Once my new pump & filter arrives i will run a fresh wire from the Batt and fit a relay.
oh well the hunt goes on, loom multi plugs next and then we are looking at changing out the chip.

Got the car up in the air tonight and soaked all the tank strap bolts with Duck Oil ready for removing over the weekend.
Found this from the pump to the filter, looks like someone has been in here before as well.
Whats the bets i find an uprated pump in there?

Good!
When you have fueling prob the filter is one of the first thing to change if you don't know how old he is. Everybody start to think electrical or mecanical when sometimes it's quite simple

Damo,
I have purchased a 023 pump so i will fit that anyway so i dont need to go in there again
Dropped the tank and filter out over the weekend and drained the fuel.
Found that the car already has a 033 fitted has some sort of foam wraped around it but it fell apart once i tried to remove it. Im guessing its only there for noise???
New parts should arrive today / tomorrow so i will get it put back together and see what happens. Hopefully i have found my problem looking at the filter.
Filter has not been changed for a long long time
Tank out and drained
033 pump removed

PMSL @ you two
Franco
Reason i had to cut so much wire out was that the earth was black, cut it back a couple of inches at a time untill i found clean wire. That just so happened to be inside the car so i just trimmed the live to the same place and ran in 2 fresh wires the same length job done.
