Hiya ppl


I'm seriously thinking of getting a decent Escos soon, but what i'm worried about is forking out on a nice one and 2 years down the line not being able to get parts for it anymore! what your views on this? also which parts aern't avaliable anymore?

their have been some parts i havent been able to get but the most important ones im stil able to get!! so atm im quite happy, the bits are expensive tho

 

having the same prob at the mo mainly the small thing as clips etc body pannels are becoming rare so look after her well as ithink most of us on here do???isay get one!!!!!!!!!1

 

Wouldnt worry about it, still plenty of them getting broken and still plenty about for parts to be remanufactured if necessary

 

You guys are far to optimistic. Some examples of parts not avalible as new from Ford:

-bearing carriers
-bearings
-some body panels
-gearbox 1st gear
-invertors for gauges lightning
-steering racks
-interior components, like centre console, seatbelts, parcel shelf
-front bumper
-bonnet
-front CV joints
-boost solenoids
-break caliper seals


I think those are serious enough and there are hundreds more I didn't mention!

 

So CV Joints etc where can u get them from if yours are fooked?

Breakers, sometimes performance parts will be avalible. I found that front outer (wheel side) joint fits from Fiesta XR2i although that one is not ABS capable.

Generally speaking as the things look now I expect dramatic problems with parts over next couple of years.

the problem is then soething not avalible and not usually upgraded breaks.... also some performance stuff is beeing discontinued :-(

Try getting any of my list as new. I just bought last small turbo boost solenoid in the world...

 

i doubt that you just brought the last small turbo boost solenoid in the world, ring woodfood, bet they can get a brand new one.

 

 

Damo V I well know that it is possible to source things 2nd hand, or to find non-original parts that fit or can be made to fit - I do a lot of that, but 2nd hand parts are more and more worn as years go on, some things cannot be reconditioned forever too.

For 1996 Scoob or Mitsubishi I just go, order and buy, here it's looking around brakers, custom parts etc.

I don't think it's normal situation.
