Default major cossie problems!!!!!!!!!!

my cossie is driving me mental, bought it in november and all was fine, 2 weeks in, had to change speed idle control valve, then headgasket went!!!

so thought while im there i ll get it built to a nice spec, and built with durable parts...cometic wrc headgasket etc etc......

it is 290bhp, on greens a large turbo conversion and a A1 rally sport chip. All done by the above,

however now the car wont even start...fuel is just pouring into the engine...hence flooding, have changed all sensors, checked all wiring, and am currently awaiting results of ecu and injectors tests?? its been sittin on my drive for 4 months, it cost me £20k, and ive already spent £3k on parts and labour.. im at the end ?? help me please

Have you actually tried to contact A1 on the phone and asked them what they think the problem could be...?

Firstly, have you done a leakage test to eliminate that potential problem ?

I also had very similar problems myself and my mechanic and I were scratching our heads, we tried everything we could think of changing and in the end, it all boiled down to a few faulty wires under the bonnet (the main connector plugs), so they were replaced and it has run like a dream ever since, well, sort of so might be worth checking that

Failing that, go with the suicide

Well, it sounds like you have eliminated the most obvious things so far but you could end up spending more and more with little results, so i would first do a compression test just to ensure all is fine with the engine, if it is, then its time to trailer it somewhere.

Well your small turbo has been converted to Big so now you should have a Magnetti Marrelli P8 ECU instead of the later Ford ECCIV.
there is an internal autodiagnostic system inside that can help you to find out your problem.
I' mean usualy it's used to see if a sensor has gone but in your case it may be usefull to check if you wiring loom is fine.
You should fine more on this feature on this forum I'm sorry but all I have in this subjet is in French
first of all have a look to your ECU to see if it's really a MM or still the Ford.
Another point: did you check if there were sparks on the plugs?
did you changed them? what gap do they have?...

Did you touch or change something just before having this new problem?

dare i say it have u timed it up rite if u fitted cambelt in-correctly and turn'd engine over you will have had valve to piston contact so no compression, also like DamoV has said have u sey dizzy correctly 2

do a compression test then double make sure that timing is set have u tried a different ECU or at least get it checked

I know its expensive to take your car to an expert but why not bite the built and trailer it to A1.

sure they will have it running in a couple of days and it saves alot of head scratching and stress that will end up ruining the car for you.

weird running probs could take forever to trace and usually involve changing every sensor, dizzy ecu etc until traced..

the pros will have all these lying around to check with and will save you actually buying each one.

I had a customer who managed to connect idle control valve plug to an injector his started but used 1/3 tank of fuel within a mile, I found the fuel in the sump with the oil amazed it didn't explode.

hi, i own a frod escort usa molde have u trid the ignition control modul, mine went out and car would act like the battery/ starter was bad but no, if not that then try the oldest guy at ur local parts store.
this will not come up on any obd2 or obd1 set up so take it off and got to a parts store and have them test it.

So was there any spark or not? Just get the cosworth engine fault finding manual and go with that. Measure all the sensors and wires. If that doesn't help, get it to some professional.

Here is link to the engine fault finding manual
