went to start the escort lastnite and the key won't turn past the on position.

the crack is, turn off the imobilisers and then turn the key and all the ignition lights come on on the dash board, but thats as far as the key will turn, therefore i can't get the car to start tried everything but key just won't turn any farther

any idea's would be great

Yeah, take the barrell out and see if its the barrell restricting it or the actual switch on the cast alloy cowling.. OR drop the switch off the alloy cowling stick a screw driver in it and try turning it, see if that will twist right round to cranking position..... If it does its the barrel at fault if it doesnt its the switch
