Default How much boost !!! what a mess......

After much deliberation, i took my car to Ahmed yesterday to have it given the once over and to say im glad is an understatement.

After Mark had checked everything on the car, sensors, fuelling etc, i was expecting a shopping list of things i needed to get before they could set it up, but all was fine and working very well.

However, when Ahmed and Mark took the car out to map it, they noticed i was running an incredible amount of boost, holding at 37 psi, yep, 37 psi !!! How i haven't melted the engine or broken the turbo, i will never know, but probably down to the way i drive, i.e, not very hard !!

So, after finding out that the previous tuner had tampered with my air to air injectors and not connected them back up correctly (not sure why they were touched anyway), meaning i didn't have a 12v supply out and zero boost control, im counting my lucky chickens today that i still have everything functioning properly.

Suppose you do get what you pay for in the end, big respect to Ahmed and Mark and thank gawd Harvey knows how to build an engine

(oh and btw, nice car Paul Ripley, how huggggeee are your brakes)

After you moaning in a previous thread about the cost of them setting it up as well .

I personally think you should ask for your money back off the "other" tuner that did what he did . You're so lucky he didn't cost you an engine . Now you know why I only use and recommend certain people .

Yep, im man enough to agree with you and maybe i was rather naive not using Ahmed in the first place, if he had of said what he did charge me yesterday in the first place, it would have been fine, i was just a little peeved i suppose........

I was thinking of speaking to the certain tuner about what they did or didnt do, but im happy now and really cannot be bothered

Yep, EA alright, and yes, complete c**ts tbh

Drives like a bloody steam train Dave, they just went over the whole car, it took all day and nothing was left untouched but it looks like i have a very good set up according to Ahmed, but beware if you go there, there is fuck all to do apart from go in a cafe and walk round Romford town centre which is a complete shit hole !!

Erm, i got a cold from walking miles and miles back and forth, a stomach ache from a dodgy greasy spoon cafe, grief off a homeless person as i only gave him 2 quid and a banging headache, money well spent and a cracking day off work

You can't beat Grove imo

They know way too much about building very fast and reliable cars and don't need to brag about it

No, i didnt pay EA 400 quid !! a quarter of that.

The only reason i got EA to look at it was because on a rolling road day i went to, he said i had a slight boost fluctuation which was due to a fault in the ECU and he could sort it out for 100 quid and give it a quick run up on the rollers. It felt fine to drive, but was seriously lacking in power at the top end if the revs, now i know why after what Mark / Ahmed found.

I was stupid not to get Ahmed to set it up straight away, but i couldnt get hold of him and he wanted silly money, but thats all in the past now

Ian, why not take a little trip up to the Essex meet tomorrow ?

Too much boost and the turbo could not cope, all the power was coming from low down, so yes, thats what Ahmed told me, it was backing off or it just didnt like it so i drove it cautiously until Ahmed sorted it.

Also, for the record, Ahmed did not charge me 400 quid either, nowhere near that.

Brands it is then

Maybe the boost problem arose after EA had the car?

Just a thought...

What might make it do that then ?

I did find it a little weird that i had gained so much torque at EA (427 ib/ft) rather than the 380 it did have originally...so i think this is where the problem lies
