Default EsCos T35 vs. T25

I'm thinking of buying an EsCos.

But i'm not quite sure what type???

T35 or T25?

Are there any problems with the T25 (and the EEC4)???

I've got an Saff 4x4 cos at the moment, and i've droven an chipped EsCos T35.

If I compare the T35 Escort with an chipped Saff Cos 4x4, the Saff Cos is faster. What about an T25?

I know that a T25 Escort is not a simpel to tune (because of the EEC4 management). But i like the small turbo lag

Any other positive of negative things?

Thanks!

all depends on what power you will be happy with.

t25= no more than 300 ish bhp.

t35=whatever you want.

Go for a big turbo and run a .48 housing best of both worlds

Out of the two, the T25 suited me better. As above though, it depends if 300 ish bhp is enough.

My T25's 322 bhp, and thats more than enough for me. Mine has very very little lag with the TT hybrid. The T35's also feel much more 'raw' which would be a problem for me to get on with. Again personal choice and requirements as everyone wants different things from a car.

Obviously T25's are newer and for this reason you might stand a better chance of finding a lower mileage example as i did.

I have a t35 at about 300 bhp and lag is not such a big deal once you get used to it...

But as mates said, if 300 hp is enough for you use the t25 one, if you wish to go forever use the big one, its up to you

Im sure I heard off here that a 290 bhp t25 is as fast as a 330 bhp t35 upto 100 mph ish?? I cant see the reasoning behind it myself but ive definatly seen that posted a couple of times on here.

you can reach the desired boost quicker, therfore your traveling faster than the larger turbo model waiting to come on boost. apparently.

anyhow, i tried a a big and small turbo model, the big turbo model was to me not the type of drive i was looking for, but i could easily see the potential their!!

the small turbo was perfect for me, i managed to find a 29,000 mile FMC car, its in great condition bar some minor issues that once sorted, it will be totally gorgeous! the small turbo model suited me as A) i want to keep it bog standard b) i wanted a really late one.

Cheers Dave, thats what i thought. good thing was that it had just had a low comp re-build, conversion to st3, 18's, and a brake upgrade. will be going back to MSD for the closed loop soon. Steve

well its getting there. upgraded to 355mm discs and tarox 6 pots for the front. looking for a rear upgrade and can't decide if i should go for more power? Overall it ticks all the boxes that i wanted when i went looking. Everyone at work cant believe i spent 13500 on a 9yr old escort. However the american tech who came over last year was so impressed he want's one!!!

my old man had a 12000 mile 3 year old saff way back in 93 totally standard within 2 months it was up 350 bhp it was the quickest car id ever bin in, probably wud be 2day, it was awesome i can tell u, never mind, he sold it 4 a small turbo escort cosworth nice car but dont think it ever compared 2 the saff, last year he spent 5 grand having it converted from small turbo 2 large turbo, its a far better car now driven it in both formats.................. if u want an escort cosworth drive big turbo standard and tuned, but, drive small turbo std and one thats had a few quid spent on it and see wot ya think, my opinion only but with having 2 escort cosworths at the moment(here 2 stay) and numerous RS cars in the family over the years, just a bit of advice

Default small or big turbo

i have owned both types of escort and found the small turbo,a little bit too civilised, power came in nearly straight away, service intervals were different, turbo looked like a peanut compared to my 1992 walnut,
my big turbo huffs and puffs a lot harder, and feels like my sierra cosworths sort of but the small turbo just felt like no other ford ive driven,
still would buy my 95 lux back in a shot though......
