Advice please

My escos is reving up and down between 1500 and 2000rpm on and off when i stop but if you turn the engine off and back on its fine any advice would be helpful

Sounds like the idle speed control valve needs cleaning. This is the cylindrical object that is screwed onto the top of the throttle body. You need to use petrol or carb-cleaner. Over a period of time, you get a carbon build up that causes the spring to stick and this makes the control of it difficult for the ECU.
