Default Heres one for ya

solenoid-canister purge-
can anyboby tell me what this does

its placed just by the map sensor the reason why mine is making a clicking noise and you can feel it when you hold it

ive checked the canister purge hoses are all conected
its bugging me why its clicking when the car slightly reves above idle

Its to do with the carbon canister in side the arch liner

Some one must no what it does

Hello mate its a little round thing by the map sensor with two pipe on the top and a short wires going to a multi plug under the map sensor

Car still drives fine its only when you got bonnet up and you rev just a bit higher than idle you can hear it clicking

Going to GS motor sport soon ill get him to check it out

Id just like to no what it is and what it does

this unit draws fuel fumes off the manifold and tank and stores them in carbon canister, purge valves then run to vent the canister and put the fumes back into the engine as fumes are not allowed to escape to atmosphere anymore

I understand the bit about the clicking coz its a solanoid, but why has it started clicking when it never used to?
What have you taken your one off the car

one... should be one...

its not on there becuase the loom/euc doent cater for it anymore

fiesta had a bit of a problem with that years ago....cant remember the fix tho...dont think a new one will help its nowt to worry about tho..are the pipes all ok no hoes or splits ect

Cheers mate im not worried about it checked the pipes today all looks fine

Been driving it loads last few days and it all seems fine

Ah well ill get GS motor sport to check it when it goes in

Ill keep you posted just incase some one else gets this prob

Filthyrichie funny you should say about pipes because when we fitted oil breather kit the vent pipe that goes under car had knocked off the pipe to the solanoid canister the side that runs behind ABS block thing

It was off for days and i spotted it but the car still drove ok it was a few weeks later i noticed the clicking
