Default General Electrical Problems - update.....

I am going fucking mental at the moment!

From booking my car in to have stone chips done, my car has gone from being fine to running like a bag of shit.

Basically when I went to pick the car up the clifford alarm was fucked- autoelectrician came and said he would remove the alarm and fit a toad alarm for £275 - I thought OK bit of a bummer but got to be done! then I asked while it was there could he re-solder the fuse box - he said yes for £40. - Again I said OK.

The auto-spark then phoned me to say that with the re-soldered fuse box the car would not start. - And when he put the link that I had going from the no. 9 relay to the fuse back in the car started but run like a bag of shit.

Next step I bought a new fuse box with the correct fin code. ordered overnight for £240. When he fitted this the car still would not start. but when he put the link going from no.9 relay to the fuse in it would start but still running rough but not as rough as with the old fuse box......

I then removed the plugs to find them black as fuck!!!!! - cleaned all the plugs and re-fitted, the car then ran alot better but still not right, smelling of fuel and stopping accelerating while putting my foot flat down on full boost.

The auto-spark was stumped and in fairness to him only charged me the £275 for the alarm and not the 8hrs of extra labour.

So when I got the car home I swapped my L8 ecu for my P8 and exactly the same symptoms?????

The car now seems to be overfueling big-time, how the fuck has this happened, what the fuck is going on and why will the car not start without a bridge between no.9 relay (fuel) and the fuse with a new fuse box???????????

the symptoms are of a fooked map sen.

Right - Update....... the car is now running fine, but there is still a link between the ignition and one of the pins on the no. 9 relay???? The auto-spark cannot start the car without this link?

The fuse box is the correct box - BBA and the old fuse box that the auto-spark re-soldered is also fine. It seems that for some reason the plugs got shited up and once I cleaned them and ran the car for a while the engine started fueling correctly - though I am still not conviced all is right - that link should not be there for starters!

Could part of the old clifford immob. circuit have not been removed correctly? & Why would the car have overfueled so much to shit up the plugs?

With IGN on You need to check continuity between pins of pump relay and inertia switch, one of them will be continuous

Also ECU loom and pump relay (cant remember the pin) but one of them will be continuous, see what happens

Remember though IGN on alarm disarmed

Here you go

"Pin 28 - Fuel pump relay pin 85 (relay 9) in fuse box (plug M5B at fuse box) (blue/gree) "

Thats pin 28 at ECU right
