standard header tank?
is the standard tank prone to cracking?? mine is getting some slight grazes which look like cracks from the inside?? is this a common thing and why you all go to an alloy unit instead?

ok, i was going to source a new standard headertank but if they are renouned for cracking then i'll replace it with an alloy one,
as ive come from turbo renaults when i drained the cooling system i used to bleed the cooling system with bleed nipples on the pipes? how does bleeding the cooling system work in the cossie? do i need to bleed it, as some are self bleeding?
sorry for all the questions, just cant wait to get stuck in?!!

funny you should mention that what about proalloy's units, they have sight glass and also come in stealth mat black, they look quality tbh!!

where the alloy "lid" is scored during production to mark it out is where mine split, presumably the yrs of expansion and contraction found this as the weak spot and it opened up and split straight along the score lines, just above the welded section, maybe it was scored a bit too deep in the first place? not what you want happening though the score lines are inside the tank by the way so you cant exactly keep an eye on them

I got one 6 months ago and it was Ł26 from Ford-at that price you can afford to change them nearly 10 times before you get into Spec R with sight glass prices My last one stayed on the car from new-the only reason I changed it was because it was discoloured, I run a MAD stage 4 by the way
