Thanks M8, sounds about right cos it feels it!!!! Better get it on a diet sharpish!!!

I've got moulds to have the following made in high quality carbon fiber:

Front Bumper
Rear Bumer
Front Wings
Both Doors
Bonnet
Rear Hatch

Will post photos when they are done....... this should help it loose some serious weight!

Best you get some prices up for them too. The words 'hot cakes, like and sell' spring to mind!!

Noted, once I get t them completed then I will offer them to other Escort Cossie fans, may be I can get some return back on the investment of the tooling involed!!!

I have just received the first off samples and I must say, I am very impressed with the quality and fit and finish. I am temped to keep them in the raw finish.....

I thought so!!! no one makes anything for the escort cossie here anymore, that's why I had to make my own moulds......

My manufaturer makes chassis and body parts for formula cars, so they are A1 quality........ should should see the panel gaps, well actually the lack of them

We will be using them on a track car first and then on a number of road cars......... one being mine!!!

We are also going to be remanufaturing a number of other parts too, it's cheaper to make them here thatn to have them shipped back from the UK Once these are ready too, I will post them up for the other members too.

I left a couple of items out too, also being made is an carbon sunroof panel and complet dash pod! but this would be only suitable for track cars!

By the way, is your car and UK car? As there use to be a similar coloured car here in Hong Kong, but it was small turbo though and it was sold back to the UK.........

How much weight do you think these would save?

If you replaced all the items that I mentioned, I would guess around 200kg!!!

The track car is targeting less than, 1,000kg using these items..........

When it's time and everything has been tested etc. I will post more information....... Stay tuned

Wow 200kg is a lot of weight to lose, although I am dubious that you will save quite that much weight. If the fit is perfect then a great idea.........if not it will look like a dodgy replica

That's also why we are putting a lot of work into getting the fit and finish right..... we'll have to see what we have saved when we put the car on the scales! but just to give you an idea, I could lift the bonnet from the ground with my little finger........... (so special training required for the finger!!! )

Had car corner weights set up last week.

Total 1124Kg without driver.
FR 320
FL 338
RR 230
RL 236

Including driver.
will collect printout next week.

Front doors are still original and weigh almost 40Kg.
Kevlar doors still not fitted yet, too much to do at work.
