because i dont thrash the living daylight out of it i do between 70 to 90 mph on motor ways

I used pp8's in both my saffs running stage 3 and
i do drive my cars hard, and never had a problem with them.

And as rizla said most of the tuners will tell you there fine
on a stg3 cossie.

you've may have had a problem with a set in the
past Damo but even the best sets of plugs are
sometimes duff,so you saying they are no good
"FACT" is in my eyes unfounded

I've been trying to figure out what plugs to run also. I've been using the NGK R7234-9 plugs but they are no longer available here in the USA. Which is too bad becuse they worked great in my car. Would the Denso IK31 be a good replacement for the NGK 9? I'll be running around 380 - 400 hp.

I believe the IK 31 is the equivalent to the NGK R7234-10 and the IK27 is the equivalent to the NGK R7234-9

I phoned MSD earlier in the week and ordered a set of standard ford ones ( not sure of the name) Suggested PP8 and they told me they are not safe for Stage3

I’m sure Stu will comment

I do not advise running a std PP8 as these are a very warm projected electrode plug and are very easy to overheat.

A motor running very rich will have cool enough cylinders to get away with it but most wont. Ask in general Discussion if anyones had a PP8 drop a tip through a piston on them.. you will have plenty of replies.

Thanks! I actually checked Denso's website after posting and the IK01-27 was listed as a direct replacment for the NGK-9's. Of course they cost twice as much!

I only use the Denso IK range, up to 350hp 24, up to 550hp 27, over that 31.

They said as well a tip can break off from any plug and when i went in to buy them i said plugs for an Escos .They said whats it running i said stage 3 they said here you go PP8 (platinum)
If they said another plug i would have bought em if explained why but they didnt they sold me the PP8s

I wouldn't take that risk on my car myself if a few tuners had told me they where notorious for breaking tips.

With the greatest respect.. BURTONPower may have been the pioneers in the Ford tuning industry.. Aswell as having very good stock levels...

But I wouldnt take their advise re plugs...

Anyway, just to clarify, I Have never had a plug tip melt off... piston yes plug no, not yet...

BTW me 7 375 Harvey engine the same plugs above..

If you dont want to pay for Iridium tips, i will sell you some 071s as well.

Those 2 sets are my ONLY advice RE YB spark plugs.

Don't use PP8's!!!!!!

When I had my escos set up with Mark - he put in the Denso plugs the he recommends for my power level - no questions asked took his advice and changed the plugs and the car has not missed a beat.
