My beautiful Pink all original 1994 Ford Escort solar is having a drama .....just one of many I'm afraid!!
Recently she lost power and the coils had to be replaced by myself!
Then the sidelights and the brake lights stopped working she has had various electrical problems over the years but the usual stuff windows roof etc but these have all been cured.
She is running an RS 2000 engine which is a sweet as nut.
I am sure by now you are all shouting "fuse box" but ...and it's a big but.... the fuse box is impossible to get it's a 94 AG 14A073 BAB
05/02/99
I assume this is not the original fuse box and is it for the car or the engine??
Anyway and here comes the story my husband refuses to let me driver her telling me she was going to catch alight!! So her battery was flat so I put her on charge and then would you believe the lights came on but when I took the battery off charge the lights went off and then they wouldn't turn on again. When I put the battery back on charge the same thing happened I I have tested the battery which is less than a year old but it says it's charging.
I have had an electrician at auto electrician look at it but he said it would cost a fortune I don't think he really knew where to start and my husband won't let me spend a fortune!! Understandable so as she probably stands me in about 8 grand now and that's what he knows about.
So sorry this is long and I sound like a whining bitch but does anybody have any ideas as to what to do or what may be wrong.
PS she has always been kept in a garage so has not got damp !!
Thank you boys
Please don't think I have any clue about cars I def don't !!

PassionFord Post Whore!!
Has the FuseBox been ruled out and do you mean it's NLA?
I'm pretty sure you could get them refurbished, iirc isn't it the circuits that burn out and the burnt bits can be bypassed with wire soldered in? I could be talking crap, sorry if I am!? Just an idea, as most MK5 electrical probs seem to stem from the fuse box....
Hope this helps!
Btw, is it that metallic dusky pink sort of colour? Didn't think you could get an original pink Escort!?
