Default LHD steering

A friend of mine over in Italy is converting his Escort Mk 2 steering over to left hand drive, it's actually a kit car that just uses the steering rack plus a few other Ford bits and pieces

He sent for a LHD rack from a dealer over here in the UK,
when it arrived it turned out to be a RHD rack, i phoned the dealer on his behalf as his English isn't too good and basically was told that they're the same rack but just different mounts so if he makes new mounts for his car he'll be fine !

I even tried that with a spare Capri rack to prove what a load of c**p that was.

so, has anyone converted theirs ? or any advice for doing this, obviously the new rack will go straight back.

Any help will be gratefully received

Thanks Hal

Hi, thanks for the reply
He'd said to just turn it over and it would be ok, it would have made for very interesting driving if he'd done that, turn left go right, turn right go left, ok for a circus i suppose.
He's managed to get one in Italy now and taken it up with ebay so all sorted

Thanks Hal
