Default 2.0 pinto on xflow box?

iam putting a 2.0 pinto in my mk2 escort soon and going to bolt it 2 the xflow box i got in until i can afford a rs box. wot clutch do i use and has any1 got the part number.
also has any1 else ran a 2.0 pinto on a xflow box and did it work ok cos iam guessing it will not b that strong. the pinto is standard except a twin choke weber.

The box is strong enough, don't worry. Just get a clutch for a RS2000, Mk2 Capri pinto etc. Make sure you do not get the 5 speed clutch as it is different.

i heard use a 1.6 pinto clutch

Check the input shaft on the gear box, 1 inch 23 spline will fit straight onto the pinto 2.0L, but it's probably smaller with less splines(can't remember the number, 19?). Even so, the gear box will be fine, i had that combination in a kit car for years, but you need a pinto 1.6 clutch/cover and flywheel.

currently doing the same conversion mate.what crossflow box is yours. we were going to use the one that was alredy in the car(1.3) if we could. what clutch plate and cover do we need if we can

mines a 1.3 box i think and i using a 1.6 pinto flywheel and clutch. heard that works.

A 1.6 pinto clutch can be either for a 5 speed or for a 4 speed!!!! Make sure you get the correct one, a mk 2 Capri version for example.
