Track car opinons please.
What are your thoughts on one of these for a track day car?

Ive got one sitting on mydrive which belongs to my dad, but has no mot or tax.
He might let me have it, so thought it would make a good cheap track car.
Just needs suspension and wheels really.
What ya reckon?

Must admit im seriosly tempted as the missis wont let me take her s1 on track when its done (cant blame her
) and I defo wont take the cossie on track (if it ever gets done
).
So thought about a cheap car to use on track and realised theres one sitting under my bedroom window under a sheet

Not as interesting to watch as the RWD version, but it will be a good nippy little car on track.
Change the brake fluid and pads, trailer it there and get on this afternoon
What you messing about just thinking about it for
JUST DO IT

got nothing to trailor it with and I have no trailor
Wish it was the rwd version, love them cars.
Should be a fairly cheap car considering I dont have to buy one lol.
Will get it mot'd though so I can use it on the road aswell.

Im sure with about £1k - £1.5K spent on it, it could make a half decent track car. Not wishing to be rude, but can you afford to be thinking about spending ANYTHING on a track car (or even another car) when you have a Saff 304R thats just rotting away on your drive way. IMO your money could be well spent on gettting that restored and running THEN thinking about fun track cars. After all your 304R is a really nice car and a shame to see/hear that something so rare is sitting there playing 2nd fiddle to a 'rolla GTIIIIIIIIII Track car
BTW IMO track cars take a constant supply of money being spent on them before and after each event. So far i have on average replaced £200 ish of bits before a track day and another £200 ish of bits after track day and thats not including the track pass @ £100+ and fuel for day £40+
Its not cheap
P.s When we gonna see you out with us again big boy ??

Paul how much have you had to spend on replacing bits after your track session and how much did you have to spend on getting it track suitable (like suspension brakes) if you dont mind me asking ?
Might help Benn see the real costs of "fun track" cars

The week after i bought it i put on 1000 mile old **cough** G-Max **cough** suspension, i know, i know its wank - but its was a little better than the 100,000mile old Ford stuff that was on there, plus it lowered it by 35mm.
I also bought a new stainless steel Mongoose system as the original Ford one was shot to pieces.
And then the original engine went
too, so i had to replace that
And while we were there we de-catted the downpipe The week before the Brands track day i put on new standard discs and pads....... After....... Cooked good'n'proper
They were fubar and quickly binned for some pagid grooved discs running Ferado DS pads.So all in all not to much really, I mean as long as the engine dont go pop it shouldn't cost too much for you to get it upto scratch.
Theres other things in the pipeline, i mean my 2nd gearbox is about to shit itself and a wheel bearing needs doing - so nothing major

I thank you
I fit most of it myself mate, with the help of some close friends - so theres no real labour costs.
But i spose it must be around that mark, although the current gearbox was the cheapest item at £40
If it lasts thru Beds i'll be happy
