Is this illegal?
As you can see the tread on the out side is basically bald! But this hardly comes into contact with the surface and across the rest of the tyre is just above the legal limit. Im 90% sure what i think, but just wanted second opinion

Nope, look legal to me, just.
The tread has to be above the minimum for the centre 3/4 of the tyre so that tyre is ok provided the carcus is not showing anywhere.
I wouldn't drive round on it though

Nah its not showing anywhere! Though the wheel i toke of had little holes all on the inside
So i put this wheel on which was the spare
Fook knows why the tyre has worn like that, as the car doesnt pull etc so tracking is fine, unless it was out before. I want drive like that for a month max if possible as i want to order some 18"s up but cant afford it until i get a job

what would cause it to wear like that? I would presume tracking way off?
Hmm if it is illegal with i thought it was i will chuck a new one on there, just a shame as im going to but 18"s soon. Well if this guy buys my pug now this afternoon i will just order them up on Monday

I'll be looking for something like that if I sell mine later
Rhys my RST failed an MOT on a tyre that was in better condition that your one, but had the same problem. It had worn on the inner edge but had plenty of tread over the other 3/4 of the tyre but they failed it, so i would say no
BTW it wasnt my RST that caused it to wear the inner edge, it was the previous owner before i bought the wheels and tyres

not a berlingo/partner van by any chance?
these are very common for wearing out the n/s/f in record time.
chassis leg was welded on in the wrong position on literally thousands of them!
