The Bailey ones usually snap off then piss oil onto the red hot manifold and set your car on fire as the oil bursts into flames.
IMO the oil has already been filtered by the oil filter so it's not needed.

the Bailey ones are actually very good! the trick is not to mount it directly onto the turbo, this eliminates the chance of it snapping off as said by DazC.
it should be fitted in an inline way in to the oil feed pipe just before the turbo!

The thing is, I still see no point of them when the oil supply to the turbo has already immediately been filtered prior to it traveling down the feed pipe.
If the original oil filter doesn't do a good enough job in the first place then what are all these car manufacturers doing not fitting a pre filter as standard?
Andy, my car went to Blackpool last Sunday evening. Prior to that it hadn't really been used for weeks on end (about 6 weeks). The problem is when I lay it up for ages, it floods a cylinder with fuel so I have to take out the plugs and cdry them out!

i think they shud be used cos ive taken plenty of turbo's off to find a lump of summet in the oil feed that i would think lead to the death of the turbo
i dont have 1 tho on account im to lazy to get the hoses i need for either end
think every dead turb ive removed has had sumthin or other in the oil feed at the top partially blocking, wish sum1 made little oil coolers that would act as a small sump for the oil as it came round the head, that would help a bit i think

They can melt on to the turbo.
straight back to amber performance
You should see the inside of a Turbo Pre-filter after an engine failure. I'd say thats reason enough to have one in the hope that it's an increased chance of a failed engine not destroying your turbo internals.
I have an inline one, which was soon copied by Tony.

I have the pictures of mine, worth a post up you think?
And in your dream did I copy you. I really wish you had some ideas yourself sometimes
It is a bit hard to make out, but you can see all the swarf that didn't go into my turbo. If Mr C had a half decent at the time the photo would have been alot clearer

My advice is.... Fit one, just under your coil pack, oh shit... I forgot, sorry
