Default Fire Extinguishers

How many people carry Fire Extinguishers in the cars?

I have just bought one but don't know where to mount it, where have other people put theirs?

i keep mine under my car mate in the rear. just imagine a tiny tiny fire in the engine bay turn into a huge fire thats destroys the car and it could have been prevented with ease.

couldnt imagine how i'd feel

I reckon if your going to fit a fire extinguisher your best fitting a battery isolater aswell, if your car starts smoking then i guess it's wise to shut down all the electrics. No point putting out a flame if the possible cause is still there... never thought about fitting either but i guess its a good point

if your going to get a fire extinguser get a proper one, not one of those silly 1kg content efforts... you know how long they last in the event of a fire ? get a 3.5kg at least if the car does catch fire you stand a chance of putting it out and wont look a prat when the fire brigade turn up.

plumbed in system for the engine bay is worth while if you have an expensive set up from companeys like lifeline i think there called.

best bit of advise i can give if you car catchs fire is get away from it.

Mines in the glove box would have to be a little fire for it to have an effect
But i know how scarey it was last summer when we actually thought my car was on fire - in the middle of a regional stand blocked in

yeah lifeline do a plumbed in one for Ł140 thats an engine bay one, think of all the hundreds of pounds people spend on there cars, i know what i would do

the small fire extinguishers dont last long at all, you would be better pissing on the flames.

cheers mark.
