Default Breather problem?

When filling up my Saff I have to do it really slow else fuel suddenly gushes out. I've been told this may be due to the breather being blocked.

Does this sound likely and how do I unblock it?

Cheers

sounds pretty much that way cos the fuel is taking up the space the air once filled it needs somewere to go so if the breather is blocked out the filler neck it comes.... not sure how much of a job it is to sort out though mate sorry

If its 2wd the breather system on the tank is a simple design
Just a small pipe on the top of the tank that runs around the tank and ends up at rear of the tank.

If its a non-cat 4x4 it should be the same as the 2wd

If its a cat equipped 4x4 it will be more complicated I think, cat equipped cars aren't allowed to breath fuel vapours to atmosphere,so it should have a carbon canister type filter somewhere on the car

Might be worth sticking an air line into the breather pipe, that will tell you if thats your problem, and it might blow the blockage out

Could be you'll have to drop the tank, that would be the better job, blow the pipe/shit out to atmosphere, not back into the tank
