my car is a erst series 2

garage rung to say my car drives like a bag of s***.

compression is down. 2 running 90 others 110..... think thats what the result was.
plus seizing brakes.


what does the compression mean?? new engine??

 

new piston rings, although its proberbly time for a rebuild.
does it smoke and whats your oil pressure like?

 

You will need a cylinder leakage test carrying out to identify where the compression is being lost. Possible areas are intake/exhaust valves leaking, piston rings not sealing against bores or cylnder head gasket failure into cooling jacket or adjacent cylinder.

 

thing is it doesnt smoke, just put a stage 2 head on.

has been running like a dream, hasnt run since the head went on.

collecting tommorow and will decide weather to sell.

is it worth replacing the rings?

not sure of the oil side....doesnt use much at all though and car never overheats
