Default More Problems :(

What a bugger this is!

Changed oil & filter yesterday, as there was some sludge on dipstick, checked today, same again, damn it, head gasket you say? no, its not loosing any water & the water is nice & blue.

Soooooo, checked the breather, noticed the stupid thing was cracked, got a new one, took all the breather hoses off, full of crap, cleaned them out, noticed the one that runs around the engine & onto the metering head (or somewhere round there) had a nice big hole in, where it had been resting on the block, balls.

Tried to get one, everywhere was shut, so taped up the hole, no leaks.

Put it all back together, with new brather unit, started it up, wouldnt idle.

For fucks sake!

increased idle speed a touch, now it idles, but sounds like its missing slightly.

How the hell can this happen? i have done stuff to make it run better, not worse!

What the hell is going on? keeps wanting to cut out

Help me please!

And speedo is connected to dash, and box, and still isnt working

Am sick as fook.

just cos your not losing water mate it dont mean the head gasket's not gone best thing to do is do a compression test on it to be 100% sure

As for the speedo is your's in two parts??

yeh, two parts, join just after bulkhead.

Its deffo not the headgasket, not overheating, water is fine, plus the big hole in the breather pipe that had loads of water in when i took it off gave me a hint it was that.

Just dont know why its running worse now, all i did was oil, filter, new breather, cleaned pipes

Make sure the cable is in the second part right i had the same problem the other week it was because the cable won't in the second half right make sure the cable is stright when you put the top part in cos it won't go in if the cable is bent

as for the other problem id check all the pipe's again and make sure there not leaking air

I aint had the speedo cable apart though, i could have only knocked it

Have took all pipes off, checked them & put them back on again, even tried old breather unit back on incase new one wasnt working properly.

no difference.

Might be the cog for the speedo in the gearbox as these can were as there only plastic

Could be a lead/plug fucked making it not idle

True, will get another cable fitted.

Cant see how it can be plugs or leads, it was running spot on when i took it in this morning, oil change & breather clean out & it wont idle

If its been running fine with that hole in there it means that its probably over fuelling now you've patched the hole.

If you have an air leak thats not going past the metering head on the MFi system it will lean the mixture out, sounds like yours has had the fuel to suit it with the hole there.

I would defo take it to a garage and get te h base mixture tested at the very least, then maybe to a rolling road to make sure the fuelling is ok right through
