i'd double check that at another dealer, a lot of wheel bearing kits were handed because of the threads on the hub nuts, most of them were superseeded by a kit with no nut. a lot of ford parts places dont check stock avalibilty properly either.

There's also a Ford dealer on Kirkstall Road in Leeds, dunno what they're like. I bought an idle valve there once and the guy on the parts desk knew my dad so put it through as staff

I haven't done the other side yet!!! It's still ok at the moment although no doubt it'll be the next thing to go!!

I'll pop in there tomorrow and get them to check stock around the other nearby places!!! Also the motor factors too!!

I remember getting a couple of small bits for my steering rack/bulkhead, bush things

I gave my vin etc and they gave me 1 bit out of 3 or 4 that was correct

So I went back and got him to look up the bits on a sierra bulkhead... they looked the same on M/Cat so said I wpould have them... his response... "I'm not going to sell you those as they are for a sierra and you told me you want the bits for a Escort".. ROFL I nearly cried, it was less than a quid, I told him to bring out the bits for a sierra bulkhead to see how they compare to the bits I took off my car which I had in my hand... He did they were identical

Can just imagine when I left what he said to his work mates cant ya

I changed mine 2 weeks ago and got my bearing from my local NON RS ford dealer no problem.

Not all Ford dealers are the same - But they should be
