he knows your after him chap! but he works some weird shifts! as far as im aware the rods are fine, dunno about pistons tho as the head on a cvh makes the cr different IIRC! needs to be lowered a bit more on a zvh

Eagle rods are fine, in a mondeo block (you can only use mondeo blocks for ZVHs). But, you need to remember you want a Focus type piston, if you have Eagle rods and a Mondeo piston, the combined rod and piston length will be altered and not work!

So get a Focus type piston. As for CR, thats up to you to decide what you want to run, and have the pistons machined and measured to suit. I'd imagine a piston with say an 8.2:1 CR in a Focus 16v head, would be about right, be in the 7.X range (without working it out) when using a 8v CVH head.

Roughly speaking, if you bought a set of 8.2:1 CR pistons for a 16v zetec, assuming the combustion chamber volume of the focus zetec head is similar / the same as the mondeo zetec head.....

Then i think that would give approx 7.3:1 CR if the zetec head was swapped for the CVH head.

This is roughly speaking - as i said above, im going on the presumption that the heads are similar between mondeo and focus.... anyone know?
