Sounds alright, depending on price, and the motherboad spec (as in for upgrading).

Graphics card ain't bad, but for serious games that will need to be binned. Windows XP Home is ok, not as good as Pro IMO (depending again on what you want to use it for).

Most pc's nowaday's come with a dvd burner. Full version of Office 2003 gives you stuff you probably won't ever need, along with most of the bundled stuff.

If that's more then £250 you've been shafted IMO

My machine is a P4 2.8gHz, with 1.5gb RAM and 2 drives totalling 140gb and I think it's a preety good system Works a treat for me, so your spec there sounds good

Mine was £200 second hand (ebay) and is a Dell machine. Ain't got a good grx card (on board 64mb card I think) but I upgraded the sound card (optical/digital 5.1 PCI card). It only came with a DVD ROM but I already had a DVD Burner. It was £200 tho for just the tower, mouse and keyboard - no monitor etc... Still I think it was a good deal cos it's the more "business" end Dell stuff (Optiplex) so a bit better specced than the usual home-aimed Dimension series (well, so a bunch of reviews and write ups on the net led me to belive anyway).....
